Our family business developed and grew from a little yak van selling momos at local markets in 2009, to two fully equipped catering trailers traveling to music festival all over the country.
In 2012 we were given the opportunity to run a pop- up café in Manchester for six months, which gained a local cult following. This experience encouraged us to look for a permanent base whilst continuing with our busy summer festival commitments. In early 2014 we opened a permanent takeaway in South Manchester just in time for Tibetan New Year. Our most recent café opened in Hebden Bridge, in Spring 2018.
Tibet is a nation with a cuisine that is as unique and vibrant as its people, language and culture. Although influenced by the food of neighbouring India, China and Nepal, it has retained its own distinct flavour. This is reflected in our ever-growing menu, which offers both traditional Tibetan dishes and those with distinctly Himalayan roots. We offer a delicious range of vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as meat and fish options.
Our unique flavouring is at the heart of all our food. Catering for all palates, we use a delicate balance of ginger, garlic and fresh herbs, while spicing up some dishes with Tibetan pepper (’emma’) and fresh and dried chillies. We pride ourselves on always using good quality, carefully sourced ingredients, free of MSG, artificial preservatives, colouring and flavouring.
